Eid ul Fitr Mubarak Wishes

About Eid Ul Fitr

In Islam, Eid ulFitr (Eid-ul-Fitr) symbolizes a special prayer offered during the month of fasting and a remembrance of a great deed to be done by someone or something to save humankind from evil and greed. Every Muslim community across the world follow this tradition and pray for a better future which is being taken away with the onset of Covid-19 pandemic, as well as many other diseases which affect human beings such as cancer and HIV/AIDS. People of all religions are also celebrating this day as there are hundreds of celebrations that take place throughout the year. There are several ways through which you can celebrate this day. You just need to choose one among them.

The most common way of celebrating this holiday is by making e-Gudayas. E-Gudayaas literally translates into English that means ‘Guday’, a person who died and has been resurrected and also someone who comes back again after resurrection. It is said that, according to Quran, a person who was alive only once and had received the privilege of resurrection should be given an advantage of resurrection. In today’s era where there are more than 1 billion Muslims around the world, and over 610 million followers of Islam around the globe, having such a privilege is extremely rare in our religion but it is not impossible. However, if it is given to us only once, what good will it do to mankind especially now that humanity is living in extreme poverty? If the promise is not given, then surely human life is worthless? Do we even know ourselves? Why shouldn’t we live our own lives according to our own values and beliefs. Our religious traditions have been made sacred but has it lost its meaning? How could we live in peace when we ignore so much from our religion which has nothing to teach us? Is death ever a blessing? How could we rejoice in victory when defeat and pain is common to us yet we use them as tools and weapons? We know those whose eyes were closed, how they endured, and those who did not. But do we need them when we are suffering, helpless and even die? Surely, no. If we never learn anything from our religion. And I don’t mean the teachings of the Koran, rather, of all other teachings of any religion. In order to explain this issue fully, we need to go beyond that. As for my point of view, the question is; does our religion give meaning? Or does it create meaningless empty promises? Maybe, yes, however, it doesn’t help us solve the problems we face by giving us empty promises.
